I was curious if I was losing or gaining weight while I was in Japan, but didn’t really want to buy a scale. So I asked the front desk of my apartment building if they had a scale that I could use. It turned out that they had one and they would get it out of storage and drop it off at my apartment. When I return to my apartment later in the day I found the scale with this note. It made me laugh because the way it’s written makes it sound like I’m in desperate need to start watching my weight.

I tried some sweat potato ice cream. It sounds pretty weird, but it was actually pretty good tasting. I’m not sure why it is purple, I thought sweat potatoes were orange.

Japan, Tokyo Bathroom, Toilet 2 Comments
I was on the 12th floor of the Daimaru Department Store next to Tokyo Station when I needed to use the bathroom. I found this cool bathroom with a view.

I was waiting for a train when this little old Japanese lady walked past with this monster backpack on.

Coming back from my Golden Week in Hakuba I took the Shinkansen. I was curious about how fast we were actually going, so I used my hiking GPS to see. According to the GPS we hit 161 mph (259.1 kph). It’s pretty amazing how smooth the ride is even when going that fast.
