Namibia – Day 17 – Cheetahs

Our last day in Namibia started with a sunrise game drive to photograph a group of cheetahs. We had seen some cheetahs on our first afternoon at Okonjima, but they were dirty, sleepy, lazy-ass cheetahs that didn’t make for good photos. So this was another opportunity to see some cheetahs. This group turned out to be much more photogenic. After that it was a race to the airport to catch our flights back to Johannesburg.

Great shots forest, what focal length were you shooting at. How close were you able to get ?

Hi Craig, we were actually able to get surprisingly close to the cheetahs and leopards. I was usually using at 70-200mm lens with a 2X extender on a full frame camera. On this drive I forgot the extender in the room, so it was just the 70-200mm. But I did crop in a bit in Lightroom.
